Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be contracted to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she began gaining recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her first songs online in the year 2012. She dropped Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music on the internet in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out on 21 July 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. In the following season, the music circulated through Dreamville. In December, it was revealed 8, that she had joined Dreamville Records. She was featured in the album collaboration Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 she debuted her first EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared as a guest on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. First single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out September 5, 2018 with unreleased music videos. The 9th of November saw her release two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13 she dropped two more singles called No One and Pdigree. She performed with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, then made the track available as a solo single for her first album. On February 20, 2019 she released a music video released to accompany the track. The track has received more than three million viewers on YouTube during its initial week. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
